SECTION ONE
Objective, Scope, Basis and Definitions
Objective
ARTICLE 1: (1) The purpose of this Directive is to ensure the cooperation between Dokuz Eylül University and its units, public and private sector organizations and other stakeholders and the sustainability of this cooperation; to establish its own Advisory Body to share experiences and to determine their working procedures and principles.
Context
ARTICLE 2: (1) This Directive covers the formation and working procedures and principles of the Advisory Body to be established in order to ensure sustainable cooperation of Dokuz Eylül University and its units with external stakeholders, to develop relations and to share experiences.
Basis
ARTICLE 3: (1) This Directive has been issued in accordance with paragraph (f) of Article 44 of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 dated 04.11.1981 and the Regulation on the Establishment of Advisory Boards in Higher Education Institutions published in the Official Gazette dated 08.10.2016 and numbered 29851.
Definitions (Amended 03.12.2019: 522/4)
ARTICLE 4: (1) In this Directive, the terms refer to the following:
a) University: Dokuz Eylül University,
b) Rector: The Rector of Dokuz Eylül University,
c) Senate: The Senate of Dokuz Eylül University,
ç) Board of Directors: Dokuz Eylül University Board of Directors,
d) University Advisory Board: The board that provides opinions and suggestions regarding the activities carried out at the University and its units,
e) Unit Advisory Board: The advisory board of academic units (Faculty, Institute, Higher Vocational School, Conservatory, Application and Research Centers),
f) Program External Advisory Board: the advisory board of undergraduate, associate degree and graduate programs.

ARTICLE 5: (1) The University Advisory Board is chaired by the Rector and consists of Vice Rectors, two members representing the Senate, Quality Coordinator, Dokuz Eylül Technology Transfer Office (DETTO), Dokuz Eylül Technology Development Inc. (DEPARK), D.E.Ü. Alumni Association (DEUDER), and representatives of public and private sector organizations deemed appropriate by the Rector.

Enforcement and Execution
Enforcement
ARTICLE 11: (1) This Directive enters into force on the date of its approval by the University Senate.
Execution
ARTICLE 12: (1) The provisions of this Directive are executed by the Rector.
