Programme accreditation is the evaluation and certification, by an independent body, of whether an academic programme’s teaching structure, learning outcomes, assessment practices, staff qualifications and continuous improvement mechanisms meet defined quality standards. The purpose of the process is to strengthen the quality assurance of programmes, to increase transparency and accountability, and to embed continuous improvement in education.
In line with our quality assurance approach, the Faculty of Letters supports the accreditation of its programmes. Through the relevant commissions we carry out self-evaluation, evidence-based monitoring and improvement work.
Within this scope, the undergraduate programme of our Department of Psychology was accredited for five years in 2024, following the evaluation of the Accreditation Board of the Turkish Psychological Association, which found that it met the required criteria. The undergraduate programme of the Department of Sociology was awarded five-year accreditation in 2026 after the evaluation carried out by FEDEK.
